Artificial Grass Installation

What is your question?

2023-04-01T04:30:26+00:00

Yes, our turf can be installed onto asphalt. However, it is not a good idea to lay tiles right over the turf, rather, we will suggest you to lay the tiles first, then cut turf into strips and fit in between tiles, you should use turf glues to affix the turf in place. After trimming off the manufactures edge... How much usable turf will there be?

2022-10-24T05:57:46+00:00

The exact width is 15’-2” without manufacturer’s flaps. In most applications, installers to cut off first couple of stitch lines especially for seaming purpose. Most our turf’s gauge is 3/8” (the distance between stitch lines), so even cutting off couple of stitch lines, you will lose just about 1” or so. Is the wire mesh to protect from critters digging up under the artificial lawn?

2022-09-27T03:00:42+00:00

The reason to install wire mesh under the turf is to prevent gophers or critters coming through. Wire mesh is always an option when it comes to turf installations, not all areas are having gopher or critters issues. I'm looking to cover a yard that is 40 x 20 and want to know if I can get 1 piece of turf to cover it

All our turf products are 15’ wide, a full roll is either 75’ or 100’ long. There will have to be a seam for your area which is over 15’. For any other questions, please feel free to call us at 877 796 8873 or email us at [email protected], thank you.

Hello, I live in Poway close to garden road. Do you do installs here in town? If you don't, would you mind forwarding me to someone who does? If you're not able to make a specific recommendation, can you provide a contact list of contractors who purchase your turf in Poway? Thank you!

We have multiple dogs that will be using the turf as their main area to relieve themselves. Will the TCool infill drain as well as other infills?

2022-07-14T02:12:10+00:00

Yes, you can use TCool infills for pet area. The drainage capacity of Tcool is just as good as any other infills. Even though the infill won’t help to neutralize the pet smell, but people can always use our Pet Odor Neutralizer to get rid of smells. For any further questions, please feel free to call us at 877 796 8873 or email us at [email protected], thank you.

I have the W blade 60, and I am less than 1 pound per sq ft with infill. The infill will not settle on.

2022-07-08T00:27:11+00:00

There could be two reasons regarding your concern: we are not familiar with the particular infill you have used, however, the mesh of the infill might be a bit too big, we typically recommend to use #16 or #20 mesh infills. Secondly, for infill purpose, rake might not work well especially when the infill particles are big, a coarse push broom will work better, most of professional installers use power broom to get the job done. Please feel free to email us at [email protected] if you have any further questions, thank you.

My backyard Turf has wrinkles in it, hollow areas with turf on top of it. The seems are very noticeable. the turf was laid on the rock not granite. Also when I asked about infilled he said this turf has thatch already in it so you don't need infill.

It is difficult to tell without seeing the process and results of the installation. Turf installers might use different installation materials that available locally and alternate the process from our recommendations while still achieving the goals such as proper drainage. Infills are recommended for the purpose of helping to hold down the turf and minimize contractions and expansions. Your installer is correct that most of our turf are thick and fluffy enough to stand up well, though. Sometimes people skip using infills because of budget or for small areas. In any case, uneven surface seems more like an installation issue. For any further questions, please feel free to call us at 877 796 8873 or email us at [email protected], thank you.

15x19 is a rather small area, adding infills onto such small piece of turf can be easy: you can simply hold the infill bags and spread the infills onto the artificial grass surface, then using a push broom to brush the infills into the turf. Artificial grass has to be installed on a solid and smooth base: the turf is as good as the base. We always recommend to have about 4” of base build for artificial grass installations of which 2-1/2” of road base and 1-1/2” of decomposed granite. Such preparation will not only provide solid and smooth base but also guarantee the best drainage. For certain dry areas, the base building might be a bit different if the drainage is not a big concern. You can always call us at 877 796 8873 or email us at [email protected] if you have any further questions, thank you.
