I was looking for a company that had the right putting green turf and fringe and had lots of experience in putting green installation.  After days of research I came across a company called Global Syn Turf.  They referred me their dealer in Costa Mesa were supposed to be experts in putting green installations.  I had their putting green designer Sean come out to our house to look at our backyard.  Sean was very knowledge able about putting greens and like me is a good golfer.  He gave me lots of tips when it comes to the grade and drainage in my yard first and foremost.  After that he came up with several putting green sizes, shapes and designs.  This includes how many putting green holes and the different types of putts I should have.  He went into the type of detail to tell me how each putt was going to break.  He designed putts that would have a left to right putt, right to left putt, uphill putt and even a downhill putt.  As an accomplished golfer I need and want this kind of help when it comes to designing the right putting green for me.  Sean spent a lot of time and patience with me to help me come up with a putting green that was right for me.  He assured me the putting green would read at least an 11 or greater on the stimpmeter.  The stimpmeter reading is how fast the ball will roll on a putting green.  Good golfers want putting greens that roll fast and true.  The most exciting part about the putting green design is the shape of the putting green.  Sean gave me a great idea of designing the putting green like a famous putting green.  I decided I wanted the putting green shape to be exactly like the 18th green on the South Course at Torrey Pines golf course.  The idea of having a putting green like the Torrey Pines golf course blew my mind.  This was the best idea yet.
