Great question! Most of artificial grass sold on Amazon are varieties of smaller sizes and more importantly, such artificial turf products are more of price driven than quality focus! We have found that a lot of sellers on Amazon are selling cheap products lack of good qualities. For general public, unless you have done thorough researches and physically see and feel the turf products, it will be difficult to tell how the qualities of artificial grass vary in many different ways.

The reality is that you normally won’t get the best quality products at the cheapest prices. Your goal should be getting the best value which means the most reasonable prices at the best product qualities. The low quality products on Amazon won’t last you as long, you might end up to keep buying them from time to time, after a while you will find you have paid a lot of more buying the cheap products repeatedly actually cost you a lot of more.

I am not saying that there is no good quality artificial grass products available on Amazon, they are more expensive apparently and less appealing to buyers who are more price conscious. Therefore such products tends to be listed as much lower rankings and not easily to pop up when you search artificial grass on Amazon. Many of Global Syn-Turf customers also selling or trying to sell on Amazon, and most of them fall into the category of higher priced with best qualities instead of being low price leaders.

I highly recommend GST!
Sure-- there's a lot of difference. In terms of quality, choose GST
I've read horror stories from people ordering their turf from Amazon. I wouldn't recommend you buying there.
I'd prefer to buy products from GST as it's more reliable and legit than other sellers in Amazon.
Amazon recommends Golden Moon turf. Is it any good?

All our artificial grass products have gone through rigorous wear and tear testings before we bring them onto the market. The test method we use is "Lisport", and most of our products last more than 10,000 cycle or more. Therefore, our turf is very durable and can handle dog activities without a problem. However, the word "digger" is a concern in your questions, even though our products are durable to handle regular traffic and activities, but it is not meant for "digging" or "chewing" or "eating". I think you will need to train your dog for not to do such things on any artificial grass or any surfaces as abusive behaviors such as digging will damage the artificial grass.

Best to look after your dog if you want them to stay on your turf.

You sure can. Our artificial grass products are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, it will be very ideal to have it for an aquarium as it functions well even gets a bit wet. When installing turf indoors permanently, you can use regular turf glues: https://www.globalsynturf.com/products/seaming-glue

for secure and stable results. Depends on the traffic, you can choose any products of your preferences by visiting to our product page: https://www.globalsynturf.com/catalog/landscape-lawns. If your installation to be temporary, you can use double sided carpet tapes or velcro to secure the artificial turf down on the sub floor.

This is a great idea! Been planning to have an aquarium but I am not sure about what fish and things to put in it.

Yes, you can. Depending on what type of staple gun you are using, you have to pay attention to the following:

1. You would like to use the narrower staples as they won't crush down the fibers as much

2. You need to make sure not to drive the staples into plywood too tight as the top cross section of staples will catch some fibers and press them down, if your staples are too tight into the plywood, you won't be able to flip the fibers out of the staple heads.

3. You will need to have a pin to pinch out fibers pressed down by the staples otherwise, you might notice the denting areas where staples been used.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't use a staple gun

Sure you can, if you have a chance to browse our galleries, a lot of our artificial grass lawn installations with furnitures on them and they look awesome. I would always remind people that just like carpet, you put furnitures on them for a while, and when you remove them, you will see the marks, so be aware of that artificial turf will be pressed down by the weight of your lawn furniture after a while.

We have chairs and tables on the artificial grass to achieve a "Zen look" and it's very scenic!
I've seen the gallery and they do look awesome!
Makes sense. The gravity of the furniture still has an impact to the artificial grass.
That's great. Will try to do it

You don't have to, one of the key benefits of having artificial grass is to save water. However, from time to time you would like to clean your artificial lawn, it is ok to hose down the grass.

At the time of installation, most people chose to cap off the sprinklers for the lawn areas as they are no longer needed, occasionally, homeowners chose to leave the sprinklers so they can manually turn them on to rinse off dirt on artificial grass lawn: this idea might sounds good at the time but reality is they never turn on those sprinklers again!

I do not.
Definitely go for it if you're looking forward to saving more in the long run!

The answer is yes. There are two main purposes for having a sub base for artificial grass:

1. To have a proper drainage system underneath the grass

2. To provide a solid (compacted) and smooth surface to lay grass

In the turf industry, there is a saying: Your turf is as good as its base gets. So building a good sub base for artificial turf is considered one of the most important steps. Laying turf on soil or unprepared bases can cause a lot of problems such as water not draining well, turf wrinkles, bumps and dents throughout the turf surfaces: such results make your lawn look terrible and people might blame artificial grass itself without understanding those are installation related issues.

The reasons for preparing the ground before laying artificial grass are to provide proper drainage and smooth solid (compacted) surface. In order to achieve that, the followings needs to be done as a summary:

1. Excavate the existing lawn or ground by about 3-4"

2. Lay drain rock and compact

3. Lay decomposed granite or similar and compact

4. As options, you can add weed barriers or gopher wires or even zeolite materials (for neutralizing pet urine)

You can always find the detailed installation information at this link: https://www.globalsynturf.com/installation/

Wow, I thought I can just lay it down and nail them

Like anything else, artificial grass will get more slippery when wet, similar to the road we are driving on every day, but not terribly unusable though. You will find the water drain through the grass very quickly and the residues on the blades will dissipate fairly quick as well once the rain is gone. In any cases, you will need to be careful on wet surfaces.

My neighbor had theirs installed by the pool a few years ago as well. Never heard them complain about it being slippery though.
